I want an audition for something somewhat minor, but the public actually comes to see the show, not just family. I'm 11 years old, though people say I look a little older because I am tall. I'm 5'2". I have some experience. I need it in St. Louis, Missouri. I have dark hair and dark eyes. Thank you!

Go to the largest musical intrument store in your city and look at the bulletin board. Go to the music department at the high school, community college and 4-year colleges near you and look at the bulletin boards. If there is a private voice lessons/instrument lessons school/institute near you, go and look. Ask the people in the shop and the teachers at the schools where to look.

Call the local little theatres, ask if they are doing a musical in the next 6 months.

Sign up for your church choir. You may get a solo. Someone from New York may be in the audience that day. Probably not, on both counts, but you'll get a chance to sing. Lena Horne's church took a collection to send her to voice school in Europe because they knew she was one in a million.

Eye color and hair color won't matter if you can sing. You shuld know that. They may want a mature voice, however.

check out the source I indexed on the bottom. The link also has good assistance for auditioning and a search for gadget for figuring out on songs. It also lists dates and some helpful tricks. believe me- you'll do extra acceptable by using making a music a stand out music that they have got not already heard 15 situations for the time of auditions. also there's a impressive purchase of determination between a soprano and alto. are you able to hit an A above the staff? C? Or what about an F lower than the staff? Do you've a extra classical, jazz, or pop sound? that's healthier to hit upon a music that has good determination yet the position you could maximum conveniently sing even as projecting, generating good tone, and live to inform the tale pitch. wreck a leg!

I would try contacting local community theaters. I'm sure they would be more than happy to get you information on auditions for different theater groups. I know the group I'm in advertises in the newspaper, too. I found out about them through a friend, though. I think she saw an ad for auditions in the newspaper.

If you know names of any of the groups then you could also try searching the internet. I'm sure several of them have their own website where they list auditions, too.

Look around. In your town there is probably community theaters that you can act at. Work your way up the ladder. Participate in school plays. Maybe when you are older you can move to LA or New York. They have tons of auditions there. Lucky people.......

I use web sites like www.backstage.com, www.breakdownexpress.com, www.actorsexpress.com

Those are good places, but I'm also based in NYC so it's easier for me to go to calls. You may just want to stick to training really well now. Staying involved with community theater and school theater. They'll be plenty of time for you in the future to get into musicals.
