Someone had answered a question about losing their virginity and they said that she lost her virginity at age 18, but didn't "get her cherry popped" until she was 20, so I was just wondering what that meant.

It means whoever wrote that spent entirely too much time playing with herself. Technically, one is slang and the other is common use for the same thing. I suppose if a man is very small "there" though, he could rub and not rupture it. I think she'd still be a technical virgin though, if her hymen was in tact.

Popping your cherry, or more accurately breaking your hymen can happen in a number of ways – most of which have absolutely nothing to do with sex.

The hymen is simply a bit of thin skin like material that partially covers your vaginal opening. If you rode a bike a lot as a kid, or fell off of a bike, rode horses, or any of a number of other activities, the thin membrane can be torn, or completely gone without anyone ever knowing about it. Some times it happens with tampon usage, or through masturbation.

It doesn't mean the same thing. Losing your virginity means that you got a penis put inside of you. Getting your cherry popped means that the hymen breaks or ruptures. That usually happens when you lose your virginity, but it doesn't have to.

"Getting your cherry popped" refers to the barrier of skin called the hymen that is located between the vagina and the uterus, in the cervix. Cherry popped and losing virginity are the same thing.

"Getting it popped" means losing your virginity.

There's a tissue "down there" where there's blood, and the first time you..do it..the tissue usually breaks, and you bleed. People using "popping the cherry" as slang for it.

well its like if you are a virgin you have a hymen and when you first have sex more than likely your hymen will break and bleed. thats why they call it a cherry. but you can break your hymen from playing sports and stuff. so even if you don't bleed it dosen't mean you are not a virgin.
