I agree. Although I was rooting for England, Cristiano did nothing wrong. Many people can't get over the fact that England lost fair and square. It was Rooney's bloody fault for stepping on the groin of another player.

YES YES YES!!! POOR GUY!!! Over and over again...Its as if there is no other ******* soccer player in the world who was in the same situation as he is!!! The only reason why he's being ridiculed sooo much is because the English are the ones who are blowing everything out of proportion, and still cant accept the fact that they lost to the "underdogs" in addition to the fact that Cristiano made the deciding goal, and supposedly got his collegue kicked out, which i think was totally ridiculous and screwed up!!! He doesnt deserve to be in the situation that he is in, i guess he was just a victim being at the wrong place at the wrong time...I honestly think that he hasnt been dong ANYTHING considered wrong, unfair, or sneaky...The English are just interpreting it in their own way to avoid blaming themselves for their team's loss due to their tempermental star player...Think about it...How come u dont hear all this exaggerated **** form any other team that Portugal has defeated during the World Cup???

if u ask me the english press should be tearing apart rooney for his bad temper and vile mouth! besides if u look at the photos there was a portugese player there before cristiano who was already talkin to the ref so why did rooney push cristiano instead of the of the other player? besides rooney would not have been in this prediciment if he had just controlled himself! i think rooney is overated and the english fans cant accept the fact that their golden boy played so crappy while cristianos goal lead portugal to victory! yaaay!

This is a little something that I really liked reading about Podolski, and something that Cristiano should have done too when played:
The Gillette award goes to "the player born on or after Jan. 1, 1985, who makes the biggest impression at the FIFA World Cup . . . criteria for the award include "style, charisma, fair play and appetite for the game, as well as pure technical skill."

Cristiano was sticking up for his country and to me it was the right thing to do. It's not like he was the one that gave Rooney the red card. The ref had to make the decision and Cristiano just tried to sway his judgement. Just because they are teammates in a club league doesn't mean anything in the World Cup.

Get real - The REAL culprit their is Wayne Rooney.
Ronanldo was just defending his team mate and that Short temper rooney came and push - He really deserve the Red Card.
The english fan should accept their defeat and not blame Ronanldo

Its the same every world cup. The English start out like they have won the whole thing already and then their team invariably goes down to defeat. Then the hoodlums riot.
They are more predictable than salmon

You are very right. The Engish have a bad way of dealing with this type of thing. They always need to blame someone.. and if they are not English they are thrown into the pits. I hope he goes to Real Madrid, he will really florish there.
