I've been adicted to Vicoden and Ultram/Tramadol due to a worker's comp injury that I cannot get authorization from the Insurance Co. to get fixed. You MUST get him to "taper down" his usage, whether he wants to or not. It's too hard to quit cold turkey. A lot of pain pills are made from Opium (that means we need poppy fields) and look up on line about opiod withdrawal.
I like to have isolation when I withdraw so I can shiver, moan, and whimper to myself without embarrassment. Good Luck.

It truly sucks to be you immediately. I went by skill of it this time very last year. i did not sleep for per week, till you call the 5 or so minutes another day that my body in simple terms surpassed out (yet only for 5 minutes at best). this is going to be the worst element you have ever finished. No sleep. consistent RLS and back soreness. can't eat...stay faraway from peanutbutter (its the worst coming back up). Drink as a lot water or gatorade as you could. stay close to a bathroom. warm baths or a hottub might want to help. i am hoping you've someone with you that would help safeguard you...you've were given a psychological breakdown round day 3 or 4. when you're fortunate, you'd have the ability to start up getting some hours sleep round day 10 or so. interior of a few months try to have the ability to start up snoozing more advantageous than 5 hours another day. The posts that say it purely lasts some days...of direction they have not in any respect surpassed by skill of it. this may very last for MONTHS, with the first 3 weeks being organic hi. If this isn't what you're waiting to cope with, then you definitely favor to communicate along with your document ASAP. The tapering procedure if finished accurate might want to take about 4-6 weeks, depending upon the quantity you've been taking. After 6 months of no soreness meds, I (like maximum others) make the problematic decision to bypass back on them. in case you want them, you want them. continual soreness takes lots out of you, as all victims understand - so that's a provide and take. final analysis...in case you choose to bypass off, do it accurate by using extremely fizzling out. chilly turkey with opioids can truly kill you - your body would bypass into marvel. If that doesnt get you, you would succumb on your own concepts of ending the soreness. Dont go by skill of it on my own.

It really all depends. Did he tell you he was addicted? Does he want to stop? You can get him all the help and treatment in the world but the simple fact is that he will not get better until he wants to stop for himself. But getting him at least familiarized with a 12 step program such as NA may open a small door for him so at least he knows where to turn when he does decide that he can't stop on his own.

Get the names of some detox facilities and then tell him you know about his problem. Let him know there's help for him and you'll be there for him. Then give him the names of the facilities because he has to make the call himself. Good luck.
