Why do charities focus on living with the problem and not stoping it?

such as cancer , the charities focus on aiding them in thier life not cureing it . we as people shouldnt falter to such challenges , we should be strong and fight it

Because companies and sadly even some charities make more $$ by treating things rather than curing them. I sometimes wonder if there isnt a cure for a lot of things sitting in some vault somewhere collecting dust because if you cure it you don't make all that cash on treatments.

It depends on the focus on the charity. The cancer society does fund research, but the main idea of charities is to educate the public and to help the people suffering in the immediate.

If they stopped the problem, they'd be out of a job and so would thousands of people at pharmaceutical corporations.
