I would never make a promise that I didn't intend to make good. If I ever found myself in a position where I could not come through with my promise, I would be honest.

No, not at all. However, don't expect to be trusted or respected in the future. A promise is something that should be made and kept in good faith. Don't make a promise if you don't think that you will be able to keep it - simple enough.

I feel if you don't plan on keeping a promise,dont make it. I think it says something about your character if you dont keep it
