Peole should care; they are human beings as well as you. I will try not to make any derogatory comments, but it is very hard with someone like you. It's indeed sad that there are those who wouldn't care about starving, suffering people.
Anyone with honor, integrity, or human decency would try to help those who are suffering.
The short-sided, selfish, flipant, foolish, and prideful attitude that you have is what is wrong with the world today, not those who would try and help others however they may find how, and whoever they may be. If you think of the parable of the good Samaritan, there is a great lesson to be learned. Samaritans were part of the northern kingdom of Israel that was captured and eventually adopted the practices of the people around. They were hated by the kingdom of Judah because they were believed to be corrupt, and the Samaritans hated Judah as well. Yet, a man, not even a levite or a priest, came and helped him, his enemy. I can only try and say, "go and do thou likewise . . ." as that good man who would help even his enemy.
"Love your enemy. Do good to them that hate you and despitefully use you."

To directly answer your question: Yes, some people do care about what happens in Africa.
However, on the whole, most people don't really care. The media hardly covers it anymore. It's not a sexy enough story to report. The media reports what they think will get them higher ratings. When people see on TV how bad Africa is and the people dying there, we say to ourselves, "how terrible." Then we go back to our dinner and never give it a second thought.

Overall i care. About what tho is another question.

1) Aids? I dont care about since it can be avoided 100%.
2) Starving kids, i do care. Teaching the africans how to farm properly and keep the land giving will help vs them raping the land for food, moving, and leaving the land to die.
3) Illegal animal harvesting & poaching, i care about strongly.
4) Muslim movements into africa, enslaving them, killing the christian men & stealign thier wives & children, pushing families from homes untill they convert to islam... I care about strongly. To the point of invading Somalia, sudan, and helping to arm new govts in those countries to stop any more islamic incursions into the african region.

I care about Africa. If more people chipped in to help out I'm sure we can make a great difference. Everytime I eat a meal I think to myself that this is probably more food than some people eat in a week. We can't just push the people who need help to the side while we enjoy our surplus. It's just not right.

Yes. What happens in any part of the world ends up effecting us in the long run. The days of isolation as a viable possibility for anyone are gone, especially since we have immediate transfer of information, and exceptionally quick transportation of goods, services, and people. Because of our advances, we are no longer alone in the world, we have to recognize the others that live, now, within reach.

Trying not to offend anyone, but will probably anyway. It seems that AFRICANS don't even give a damn about Africa. Why not start a rebellion against the government? What about starting a war or something? I do care about Africa's well being, but I think everyone will start caring when the the people of Africa start caring enough to actually do something other then trying to comply to their government and our government's rules. Again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, which I probably did.

I think any truly caring, and sympathetic individual would have concern about what is happening in Africa. It is a sad fact that so many of the African population are infected with the disease. I have lost a family member of my own to the disease, and it has really opened my eyes to how AIDS affects a person and family. Children are watching their mothers and fathers die, and will eventually die themselves due to lack of resources to medication.

I care VERY much about what happens in Kenya, Africa especially! In October of 2001, a friend and I went to Africa for one month to set up an orphanage that we had raised money to build. We saw that it was finished and furnished, interviewed people to oversee it, then went to a town called Kitale and searched for "street children" (orphans) to place in the home. We had to go through local governments from police to tribal chiefs to get their approval to place the children there. Now the Kenyan Government places children in "Nyumba Ya Upendo" (arms of love) Rehibilitation Centre. They get an education and we try to raise money to see that they get 3 square meals a day - but that is so difficult!!! They have so little, and so few resources! We can only try to raise more money to send them! God Bless them all!!! Without God, there is no rescue! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow. how sad that this country has less than 60% literacy, and we get our information from urban legends and so-called "reality" t.v. pardon my "french" but what a bunch of idiots you all are - if each one of you took 5 minutes to actually research ANYTHING, together you'd all be in about the second grade when it comes to knowing about Africa, the history of theft and exploitation on the part of the US - hahahahaahha - how truly pathetic! thanks for both cheering me up and making me suicidal at the same time. how absolutely embarassing you all are - (SIGH) - poverty is everywhere, Africans die in mines so you can have your silly, non-valuable shiny rocks called diamonds, most of the resources you enjoy have been robbed from the African continent, including your nanny, and the human resources that built this hellacious country, but you're so dumbed down, and so PROUD (which is the saddest part) of how ignorant you are about ANYTHING outside of your tiny little suburban bubbles you call life, you actually try to respond to **** like "does anyone...africa" as if you actually have something to say!!

Thanks for the comic, yet tragic, relief!
