Depends on which genre you like:

1. HardCore Espionage--any book by John LeCarre(I suggest you start off with "The Spy Who Came In From The Cold)

2. Theoretical Physics/Cosmos --A Brief History of Time by the great Stephen Hawking or The Dancing Wu Li Masters by Gary Zukav

3. Classic Novel --The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenemore Cooper

4. Human Evolution --Dragons of Eden by the late Astronomer Carl Sagan

5. About God's Existence --Does God Exist? A collection of Christian Thinkers Essays

6. Classic Short Stories--To Build A Fire Short Stories collection by Jack London(author of classics Call of the Wild and White Fang)

7. Animals --One Day in BeetleRock by Sally Carrighar or Wild Animals I Have Known by the great Naturalist Ernest Thompson Seton

Anything by RAY BRADBURY. Most of his books are a compilation of short stories strung together as chapters in books (Exception= Something Wicked This Way Comes and Farenheit 451) I would Definitely suggest Something Wicked for a fantasy type book, but for scifi futuristic fiction...My favorite is Farenheit 451!!!! Happy reading! :-)

I know it isn't a sci fi book but I've been reading a book called "Manhunt The 12 day chase for Lincoln's Killer" by James L. Swanson and it is worth every penny I spent on it. However a library may have it on the shelves. You'll like it- especially if you enjoy learning about history.

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, one of the greatest books of the 20th century and a great example of magical realism.

Also The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, about the devil and his entourage coming to Soviet Moscow. Very funny and bizarre.

This is not a sci-fi however, I would love it if you checked out a book called Susquehanna Spirits by Robinette. Go to http://robinettepa.tripod.com or go to http://amazon.com for more information. This is the first of three books I was signed to write...the second "Dark Visions" will be released within a year. All three books are ghost stories.
