Well, if you're Christian...it's one of the 7 deadly sins and that would mean the answer is no, its not good.
Otherwise, it depends on how much greed you are talking about. Trying to take care of yourself and move ahead in life and having to pass a few people up to do so is okay, but purposely back stabbing people for your own personal gain is bad.
