Stop bashing portugal. Just beacuse they have knocked you out 2 years in a row, doesn't mean you should hate them. If the better team bet portugal when they played France, then the better team bet England. Besides Portugal NEVER benefited from a Penalty, every goal exept for one was earned. every game was earned. English fans loved Ronaldo when he went to Manchester, and now because his team knocked out England, all of a suden hes the number 1 enemy. Lets face it England has a good team, they have really good playears, but so does Spain, Argentina, Brazil and so on.. England was never going to make it to the final, they didn't play enough to be there. Neither should the 2 teams that are there, but that is in part to the officials. Diving is a part of soccer, it's up to the officials to get rid of it, not the players.

I think that during this tournament countries sort of "come together" in support of their national team (ex. Cote d'Ivoire), and they become fiercely disappointed to see them go, especially when they lose in penalty kicks after playing a tie game and overtime periods like England did. Plus, maybe everyone is so resentful that their own teams didn't make it that far that they decide to bash those that have to ruin the happiness of those fans. My team was eliminated (by Portugal, ironically enough) and though part of me blames the referees (I have never seen so many penalties in my life on both sides) it is also owed to the fact that yes, Portugal is a good team. Half the time in these games the teams are evenly matched and it could take only 10 seconds and a well-placed kick for one to out perform the other. So I don't know if people will start to accept it, but they should. Give it 4 years, guys, and you get another chance!

(i think this is an answer to the question..oh well i tried...plus, it's A-C-C-E-P-T...easy mistake to make)

The same thing that's happening to Ronaldo also took place on 2002 in Italy, when the Koreans beat Italy. Remember that one of the Koreans played for an Italian Club, and the Italian Soccer Federation tried to pull a fast one on him by locking him out of the league?
