Forget going at each other's throats with character assassination, and focus on legislation that we could agree on. It might be a long and painfull process, but then people would stop complaining that the other view is "communist".

I agree, argue about legislation but stop blaming each other for everything their side did not get. It does side track the Stupid but the rest of us just get annoyed. The stupid rarely vote & then by party line not by what they are saying. Tell me what you will vote for & what you will introduce as new legislation, telling me what is wrong with the other guy will not help you. Laws are important, personalities are not. Calling the President names or using labels show a lack of real morals & intelligence - used by children or those acting like children.

You're right. The way the people in power have "liberals" and "conservatives" calling each other Satan is just a classic example of divide and conquer. As long as we're at each others' throats, we're no threat to the oligarchy or plutocracy, whatever you want to call the people who really have the power, 'cause it ain't us.

All these crises lately: immigration, energy, social security, health care. Do these things ring any bells, like maybe they've been in crisis for decades while the politicians do nothing? These people are nothing but crooks, all of them. They should all be dragged out into the town square and horsewhipped.

That's a good point, but the politicians on Capitol Hill will most likely not agree to that. But thank god we still have a couple of politicians who are willing to reach across the isle instead of focus on their own parties ideology.

That's call socialism.. unless you're talking monarchy/dictatorship.

With any democracy there will be conflict, you just have to hope that those with differing views can agree to disagree
