I do, all the time. And it has nothing to do with depression. I've always thought about it (since I was about 4) and have wondered if one's essence (spirit, soul, whatever) stays earth-bound, if people really do have souls, if there is nothing after death, if it's like sleeping, if one goes onto another life, other kind of off-the-wall possibilities and etc.

I've also wondered about that nanosecond between life and death..when does death really occur (not by medical standards) and life end? I thought if i watched someone die there'd be some kind of hint. If there was, I missed it...

Also, my mom has died during a procedure. The docs brought her back with those electric paddle things. I've asked my mom about it a few times. Asked if she saw that so called "white light" that seemed to be the rage for awhile. She said that nothing happened or that she didn't know. She lied. And she can't lie to save her life (pun unintended). So, I think there is something.....

Yes I have thought about this. I choose to believe that I would be conscious and experience the same level of integrity I have at this time. Therefore, live as if this is all there is, with presence, integrity, honesty. You may discover that the incarnate world allows more practice at these things, while after death we are left with what we have accomplished on the material plane spiritually and emotionally and mentally.

Yeah! Being dead would be rilly cool! Just like being alive, only with the lights off.

And you can watch your friends and family cry over you, and say how they rilly missed you and how cool you were and all, and you wouldn't have to go to school anymore, and like if you wanted to stay at home all day and listen to Slipknot like rilly loud and no-one would be able to hear it cos like you're dead...that would be so cool.

And you could like appear as a ghost to all your friends and they'd be like dude is that really you, and you'd be like yeah dude I'm freakin dead, and they'd be like awesome dude!

Sorry. I'm mocking you.

Listen - don't waste your life wondering what it'll be like to be dead. You'll be dead eventually, and for a long long time. Life is fleeting - make the most of it. It wouldn't be as good as being alive, that's all you need to know.

No, One day, God created the dog and said: "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of 20 years." The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only 10 years and I'll give you back the other 10?" So God agreed.
On the next day, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a 20-year life span." The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for 20 years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back 10 like the dog did?" And God agreed.

On the next day, God created the cow and said: "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of 60 years."

The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for 60 years. How about 20 and I'll give back the other 40?"
And God agreed again .
Then on the next day, God created man and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you 20 years." But man said: "Only 20 years? Could you possibly give me my 20, the 40 the cow gave back, the 10 the monkey gave back, and the 10 the dog gave back? That makes 80, OK?" "OK," said God, "You asked for it" .

So that is why the first 20 years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves. For the next 40 years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next 10 years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last 10 years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained, so get with it, you don't want to even think about death. Life is precious, life is good, & good for you! Enjoy it, as no one has ever come back from the dead to tell you about! this is it! LIVE FOR TODAY!!! HOPE THIS HELPS !!!

I've thought about how I'm going to die (I supect a good ol' heart attack someday), when I'm going to die (who knows?), and how my loved ones will deal with all the crap I've left behind.
However, I can't say that I've ever thought about what it would be like to "be" dead. I guess that's because when I'm dead I don't think I will be thinking anymore!

Have fun while it lasts - this is all we've got!

Yes, being mortal I'm sure most people do think of it or have thought of it at least once. Many years ago I drown and was dead for nearly 2 minutes... I think of it often.

i think when you die you die.. no religion can help you.. religion is simply a counselling therapy becasue it makes people feel better about dieing. So, I think you have to live every day to it's fullest and if you aren't happy- well that is a signal to tell you that you need to change direction.. I believe in paths.. Happiness in my mind, is not spiritualistic either- it is just a match (life with personality) of your personality with your life direction. I think everything IS WHAT IT IS.. Matter will be Matter. So enjoy! Don't take life for granted.. And be nice!!!:)

I'm FEELING that right now, though things are lookin' up...! There's a lyric John Lennon once wrote in a Beatles song titled "She Said," but he actually got the lyric from hangin' w/the actor Henry Fonda's son, Peter Fonda... It went: "She said, 'I know what it's like to be dead... I know what it is to be sad...'" It's on the Revolver album... "When I was a boy... Everything was right..."

Not really. I mean, what's the point? Its not like once you gain this new status, you can come back and tell anyone what its like anyway? Besides, why worry about something that WILL happen. Life is too damned short too stress out about THAT!
