Well I look through many postings and see people joke about things like rape or post rascist comments. Why do people think this way. If you are rascist or anything I want to know how you decide to judge people. The big question is how do people think?

People are insensitive to issues until they occur to them and they suffer the result. How often have you heard of people being mugged, raped or beaten on a public sidewalk and no one rushes to their aid? People are racists as they fear that the other races will supercede them, and this has been true in Asia, with the Vietnamese refuges being harder workers at fishing than their white counterparts. Now it is the same with China and America's fear of losing its domination. People, especially younger people tend to post inane questions to inflame comments and fortunately most of the replies are equally inane, or the comments show the intellectual level of the respondent. But there are some thinkers that will take time to attempt to resolve questions or offer possible suggestions. My advice for what it is worth, sort through the chaff and disregard the claptrap.

Simply because we live in a society where people like Jay Leno & David Letterman take serious issues like these and use them as fodder for their rhetoric and punchlines. We have become desensitized, most of us anyway, and this is really sad. A good example is looking at tv & seeing a person being pummeled almost to death by a group and a crowd stands around enjoying the show. No one steps in to help. What's becoming of us?

People who are so quick to judge others about anything do so because they lack the having had the actual experiences of the person that they ridicule...in other words, they don't know "what it's like"...And it never ceases to amaze me how many of these people (who lack these experiences themselves) still want to believe they are "qualified" to judge....I think it's wise to listen to someone who has had direct experience with and in what they speak of...as long as they offer advice or encouragement, not judgement or stereotypes, or labelling...No one's helped by that. Most people who act like that are likely very insecure inside, and hearing the sound of their own voice must be somehow reassuring TO THEM.

People are cruel and ignorant on controversial issues because they are cruel or ignorant! Seriously, though, people have this need to belong to a group. This need is amplified by the need for people to feel that their group is superior to every other group. People transcend the need to belong and achieve the need to be better than everyone else.

Who are you to decide what's racist? Or ignorant? Or controversial?
Everybody judges everybody, they just see things differently, kind of like the glass half full/half empty thing.
And everybody has a right to express their own views, regardless of what those views may be.
If you want to be a baby killing abortionist, you have that right, but I have the right to tell you my feelings on the subject, so long as I do it within the bounds of the law.

I think some people answer particular ways to get other riled up. I also think there is more than enough ignorance and we as humans allow ignorance to rule our opinions of people, etc.

Because they never learned how to have an open mind; no one ever told them they live in a diverse society where many ideologies exist.

Ignorant people have a problem with hate. Sadly, parents and teachers are not doing very well with the kids these days.......

Most people do not think, before they speak or before doing whatever it is that they do. I don't think people are generally ignorant, they just don't care if they hurt others feeling.
