First of all, you need to have a clear understanding of just what a millionaire's lifestyle is really like. You know those Hollywood folks you see on TV? The ones who jet-set all around the world? Forget about them. They're clueless and are often worth less than you might imagine.
Now, take a look at your local plumber or electrician. I mean the main guy who owns the biz. He's the one wearing blue jeans and driving a 1989 pick-up truck with 300,000 miles on it and "Al's Plumbing" or "Mark's Electrical" stenciled on the side. He's either grey-headed or balding quickly from all the stress. He looks like he's had a rough life because he's probably worked more hours this week than you did in the past two weeks. He hasn't had a Saturday off in three years. The last time he took vacation was back in '88. His wife uses coupons at the grocery store to save a few pennies. Chances are, he's a millionaire. Many times over. He could sell his company next month and continue his current low-cost lifestyle for the rest of his life without ever working another day.
The real question is: Do you have what it takes?
Are you eating out often? Quit and fix yourself a sandwich. Do you have a new car with payments to match? Get rid of it and buy a car with cash (whatever amount you happen to have). Treat it well because you need to drive it for the next 20 years. Do you go to the movies? Quit and put that money in the bank. You shouldn't have enough time to watch movies anyway. You should be working... preferably for yourself and not for someone else.
I have numerous friends who are millionaires. My personal financial standing is my own business. I know one guy who owns a small convenience store (which he started from scratch) and numerous rental houses. He used to be a plumber. He's been wearing the same hideous clothes since 1970-something. Same goes for his car. He's worth about 10 Mil.
In the end, it's not what you make. It's what you save. You can either play good offense (make a lot), play good defense (spend very little), or better yet you can do both. Sound like a boring life? It is. But I don't owe anyone a damn dime and that's a nice feeling.

The last Joe that wanted to be a millionaire tried convincing 20 women he was a millionaire when actually he was a broke construction worker. He didn't get the million, but he did get 15 minutes of fame.

Instead, ask yourself this question...
Why would you want to be a millionaire?
I sure wouldn't want to be. I want to be comfortable, but too much money brings a whole other set of problems into the game.
