Every time I turn on the computer, it opens up, but I can open it on my own, and don't need the computer to do it for me. Could you please be detailed... Thanks for your time.

At the top of the messenger buddy list, click on the messenger tab.
preferences
general
remove the check from "automatically start yahoo messenger"
check "stand by and wait until I connect to the internet"
then ok

Then, each time you get online, you will have to start yahoo messenger on your own when you want to use it.

Open Messenger and click on the Messenger menu. Select Preferences. Uncheck the first box for opening automatically on startup.

ok when you open the yahoo messenger, uncheck the box " SIGN IN AUTOMATICALLY" and then see if that works ( I know it will!!) and if that doesn't work, then go to your START button, ALL PROGRAMS, then you go to STARTUP then you delete yahoo messenger from that list. But I don't think you have to do the second one because I"m sure the first one will work!! GOOD LUCK!!

go to preferences in your yahoo messenger and turn the automatic on button off

turn it off in the preferences in the messenger itself

open messenger, go to Messenger....click on General....click on the automatic button

on your yahoo messenger click "messenger " tab at the top, then click "preferences", then ckic "general",then uncheck "automatically start Yahoo messenger", then click "ok"

go to run then type msconfig
then find go to startup tab find yahoo messenger and uncheck it
