Some places do. If you are traveling to a border state, they probably will. Not anywhere inland though. The airport will have a money exchange. Or you can use your atm at any bank in mexico and get mexican money. Just be familiar with the exchange rate.

Bear in mind that pesos are going for about eleven to the dollar. In tourist areas, hotels and popular restaurants are usually pretty good about accepting USD, but if you're spending a more than a couple of days it's best to deal entirely in MXN. If you have plastic, use it for key expenses like a dive tour. For routine expenses like tchotchkies, souvenirs, snacks and sodas, withdraw cash from permanent ATMs that are bolted to the outside of a bank or the inside of a supermarket.

Green backs work just fine in Mexico but your better off to exchange them, most cases the airport has the best rate but not always. Used to always travel with Traveler checks but ATM's seem to cut down on the amount of time one has to spend in bank lobbies waiting in line to cash the checks..

Only big tourist resort hotels and a few places along the border. Better to use ATM machines for pesos. Change cash for pesos at the 'casa de cambios'

of course, but i would suggest exchanging your cash as soon as you get there, so that it is easier to keep track of what you are spending. i would exchange some and put the rest in a safe in your room and exchange it later if needed.
