Because freedom of speech not only protects those we agree with, but those we do not. If we were allowed to silence those we disagreed with, we ourselves may end up being the ones silenced one day.

Because the world isn't as picture perfect as it may seem. Racism is still there, so is the KKK, because there will always be ignorant people around. The difference is that now the KKK isn't as public as it once was. Besides, as long as they aren't doing anything illegal (like lynching) then the government allows them to assemble.

The KKK is still strong in the US, but not as strong as they used to be. As long as there is intolerance and hatred, there will be a KKK. The U.S. Constitution allows them the right to free speech and the right to peaceable assembly. Although I do not agree with anything the KKK stands for, I will defend their constitutional right to free speech, as much as it pains me to hear their hate-filled spewing.

Unfortunately, they are protected by the constitution. I believe that they are taught ignorance. I guess they believe that they are still stuck in a time when it was okay to feel that way!

I am all about freedom of speech, but i would use that to do something to change the way people think about everything not to make people hate!

because they like the naacp, la raza, the adl, etc. all are working to protect the interests of their own ethnic groups...not only do i support there right to free speech, i insist on it. white people have the same rights as other groups, and i don't care who disagrees with me on this...
