I was there that day. The events that unfolded that day I will never forget as long as I live. It was 8:50am, my office was located in 7 World Trade Center. 7WTC was right across from towers 1 and 2. I'd just come back from the cafeteria with my breakfast. We'd all heard a screeching, ear-piercing crash noise. All of a sudden, we felt the building vibrate and wondered what in the hell was going on. I thought that the building was hit and I actually thought that a bomb went off in the building. I looked out of the window and saw debris falling from the upper floors of the first tower that was hit. We were so scared! We immediately started to evacuate. Oh my god, when I got outside, I was not prepared for what I saw. It looked like a war-torn battlefield. Plane and building debris were all over the place. We immediately went behind 7WTC and waited. I then looked up and from the Jersey side of the Hudson, I saw the second place approaching the second building. I saw the plane crash into the second tower. Oh my God, I saw people jumping from the upper floors of the towers. As I tell this story, I am crying. Those people knew that they were not going to survive and felt their only alternative was to jump. I think about those people almost everyday! God bless them. We had to hurry and evacuate the area for fear of another attack. Some of my co-workers and I walked to the Manhattan Bridge. Stealth fighter planes, were flying over the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges because it was feared that perhaps the bridges and maybe the Holland tunnel were next to be attacked. All of a sudden, we heard a rumbling noise. Everyone stopped and looked around. Suddenly, people started running then they just stopped running and we all looked where the towers were standing. All of a sudden, from the Manhattan Bridge, we all saw the second tower go down. It was like the building was being demolished. The building just went straight down...................The sound was eerie. It took me a while to get home. I will never forget 9/11.

I was at work eating a sausage, egg and cheese bagel in the cafeteria. It's funny the little things you remember. We saw the second plane hit, and then my coworker got a call from his wife a little later saying that the Pentagon was hit before CNN said it. Me and another New Yorker who had family members who work in Manhattan tried for hours to get a call through. Finally just after 3PM EST we got hold of my mom and she drove over to check on my coworkers family, and shot us an email saying they were OK. It was a rough time that I'd like to forget, but can't. Not after you heard them reporting how people were jumping. We visited those towers quite a bit as kids. I don't think I will ever forget that day. I know I will never forgive it.

I was walking the dog that morning in Troy, NY and watched a plane coming out of the east make a slow turn at low level as it went through Albany airport airspace and head south, following the Hudson River. I thought it was weird until I saw the cut-in on TV and figured that was the plane. Later it was proven to be the plane.

I had a classroom full of students taking a state-mandated test. Another teacher came to the door and told me that a plane had hit the WTC. We thought it was an accident. She came back later and told me more as it happened. We were told not to let the students know so that they wouldn't get distracted from their testing, but the teacher next door had her TV on so loud that I was afraid they'd hear.
Later that day when I drove home from school, I remember worrying that there would be widespread panic. I think lots of people were filling their gas tanks because they were afraid of what would happen to the gasoline supply/prices. I watched it on TV for four days whenever I was at home.

I was setting at my moms kitchen table, she had jumped in the shower we were gonna go shopping. They started talking about it on the news and all I could do was set there with my mouth hanging open for the longest time. The thoughts running through my head were Oh my ***, my kids, were all gonna die! Then I gained my composure and remembered NO were the United States they may hurt us but they will never bring down, because we would not allow it.I did not know anyone that died that day but I felt like I lost someone dear to me. And For all those people that died, were injured or lost someone dear,WE WILL catch that son of a B*tch.

Was at home, my mom told me to turn on the tv probably right after I think the second plane hit live on tv. Glad I didn't see that part. Was and is sad, and felt very surreal. Where I am, NY and PA are north of us, D.C. only a two hour drive to the west (and much faster for a plane)...felt just a little surrounded and worried.

I was at work, and actually took the first plane very mildly, thinking it was just our own error. I didn't know what the towers were at at the time, so I wasn't overly worried until my coworkers began telling me about it, and then the 2nd one hit. We were evactuated and I went home and couldn't stop watching the TV and checking the news.. It was terrible.

I was in a training class with other employees and someone's spouse called them on their cell phone. We went to the break area and watched stv We were stunned! Of course, we all went back to work and then home. It was watching a movie and then realized this was reality, not a movie. I cried and prayed to God to be with those in pain
