Not all of them! There are over 20,000 as of this writing. About 40% of them are pure, unadulterated garbage. "Give the poor people your money, Bono." "Kill all the freaking $%^&^%!" and things like that.
Another 20% are pipe dreams, religious manifestos and so on. Another 20% are about poverty outside of Africa and other answers that seem to be to some other question.
I'm sure there will be people sorting these out for him. I mean, really, he cares a lot, but he has to sleep!
That leaves 20% that are sincere and honest attempts to look at poverty in Africa realistically.
That's over 4,000. He can read 4,000. Some of them are only a few sentences, some quite long, but those 20% are interesting and thoughtful, and this is his passion, after all.
I'm sure his goal has already been met, and that was probably to bring the issue to the attention of thousands more people. At least 20,000 have already thought about it, but sadly, some of them not very well.
To those who believe individuals can't make a difference:
"Hudson Institute released new private international giving numbers today in a white paper, "America's Total Economic Engagement with the Developing World," by Dr. Carol Adelman, Mr. Jeremiah Norris and Ms. Jeanne Weicher. Updating their research on American generosity, the authors found at least $62.1 billion in U.S. private donations to developing countries in 2003, the last year numbers are available. This philanthropy, from U.S. foundations, corporations, non-profits and volunteerism, universities and colleges, religious organizations and individuals is over three and one-half times U.S. Official Development Assistance (ODA) of $16.3 billion."(1)

No. Maybe he has someone who reads it and then picks the best 5 or 10 and then maybe he'll read them. This is a publicity stunt and it's all well and good for making people think they've achieved something but they haven't. And in the end, that is all that this is about; making gullible people think they're doing something when in fact they are not. Sending a dollar to Africa will not help them. The terrible and inhumane trade deals the U.S. Europe and some countries in Asia have forced upon Africa need to be abolished and these countries need to give billions of dollars in aid with no strings attached all the while canceling out every loan. Then maybe it will do something but probably not.

I think he’ll have a staff and they will compile the best answers which he will read. It would be impossible to read that many responses. Right now there are 22,967 responses. If he read 5 responses per hour for 10 hours every day it would take him 459.34 days to read all the responses.

Nah, the question is there to gain publicity. I'm sure there have been a thousand BETTER questions from average Joe's and Jane's but Yahoo! refuse to replace his question with another for the simple reason his a celebrity.

No. Bono is too busy counting his money and figuring out how he can get people to pay attention to him again. Either that or writing more crappy songs that don't make any sense.

I hope so. I think he means well and poverty effects us all one way or another.
Poverty could mean someone dies of hunger or disease that could have been the next great leader or inventor. Poverty also invokes crime in some people

(1) No, I don't believe he will personally read through all of them. Maybe glance, but not read all of them.
(2) There's just too many.

Let's hope so. I'm also hoping that he'll read our questions about him so he'll know how much of a hypocrite he really is. Like mine! :)

I think he might glance at them, but I really think he did it to spur discussion. I think it is also a public relations scheme.
