I got mine as a rebellious moment. My husband had just left me and I was trying to "find" myself. I got a large fairy on my upper right arm.

I got my first on when I was a senior in high school in 1979. It was a rose on my left foot. My name is Rosie so that was the significance. My second one was a heart with a wing on my back:heartbreaker : )
I got my 3rd one when I turned 35. I love wolves so that's what I got on my thigh. My next one was in 1999 when I got my blackbelt in taekwondo. It is the Korean symbol for "perseverance". It is on my back.
Next was a cross on my inner calf since I am a Christian. Then I got a really cool dragon tattoo on the back of my left arm just because I liked it. A couple of years ago I decided I didn't like the wolf, the face never did look very good, so I had it covered with a black panther.
A couple of weeks ago I got my newest one. It is on my back and it is the Japanese Kanji symbol for "miracle" because I spent the past year being treated for endometrial cancer. It started out with blood clots that nearly killed me so I am considered a walking miracle! And cancer free too!

I have always loved tattoos and I've gotten one to honor all the special people in my life. Started getting them on my 18th birthday and I'm up to 9 (in 9 years)

I got mine because I thought it was cute and I really thought it was something I didn't mind seeing for the rest of my life. I went for the heart on the hip, cliche I know but I love it. I've been thinking about a cross on my wrist but I'm still in the process of deciding.

I have 2. A mother child symbol & an armband. Both to honor my daughter. My next one will honor my husband.

I got them because I like skin art and at the time it was a way to express myself. I have four and I love them all.
