Most people may say since you're short you can't be a model, but that's crap. Any modeling agency would hire a beautiful girl provided that she has the features they're looking for. Typically short girls don't work the runway, but that's it. You'll still find short girls in magazine and tv ads, as well as other areas.
Don't let your age stop you! I'm 22 years old and 5'1" and it hasn't stopped me from anything. Never give up on yourself. Trust me, you can make it :)

Most models are tall....however look on the bright side most guys love shorter women in heels.
There are tons of career that will be glamorous and prestigious for you. Get an education the world is your oyster.
My daughter did the model thing. It is a cruel competitive world with user and many losers. The span you can work is a few short years and then your done with the career hopefully you got an education through all of it or else your in a world of hurt. She wishes she would have gotten a college degree.

You're really short to be a model, don't take that in a bad way, but models are usually VERY tall.
Why are you thinking so much about this anyways? You're only 13! Give yourself time to grow up (emotionally AND physically) and if you get any taller, go ahead and go for it, but if not, just have fun being your short-but-still-pretty self.
---
Just to clarify, I'm not trying to crush any dreams. I'm just saying you're a little short to be the typical "runway" style model. Give yourself some time to grow up, you may find that you have the drive to be whatever you want to be, regardless of your size, or you might find out you want to do something else with your life. You have plenty of time before making a big decision.

If you think you can not make it because you are short, watch the soap opera All My Children. Susan Lucci (Erica Kane on the show) is very tiny, and she is a successful actress who has also modeled - she now owns her own line of products and is quite famous. Don't sell yourself "short". Give it all you've got and keep trying no matter what. If you think of yourself as a model and "walk the walk" - visualize your grace and beauty within - you will shine. Emphasize your best qualities, as you could be a features model. Talk to your parents, write to LEGITIMATE agencies (check them out carefully first), and - go for it! (but do NOT become a statistic with an eating disorder. Too many girls - and guys - die of that every year and no one is immune.)

i was 5'1 when i was 13.. and i am now 17, and 5'6, and i did some modeling, and it was nooo problem. Just give it time.. I did and wound up being very successful. Sorry, I don't know any agencies in Michigan. Even if you still are pretty short, if you're pretty, I'm sure they'll take you for headshots. I bet you'll still grow, and I bet you're pretty.. so give it time and hope for the best! best of luck! =]

Well, you aren't finished growing at 13 so you might want to wait awhile. It's true that models are usually taller than average, but there are models that specialize in only certain parts of the body like hands, feet, or faces. See if you can learn more about it by searching for information online. If any site asks for information about yourself, ask your parents first. It's safer that way. Have fun!

Models are generally short... so you'd be fine... but don't go for a private agency... I watched a Lifetime movie about it once (lol) when I was your age and totally changed my mind about ever wanting to be a model... they might pressure you into too many things.

I would give yourself time to decide what you want to do with your life, but if you are serious then you might want to try calling your local clothing stores and see if thay are needing fashion models for their stores. I would try very well known clothing stores. This helps open doors.
