my husband said he wants to do the open relationship thing...it was my idea. will it help the marriage? we are in our early 20s. have 2 kids...i really want a divorce, he doesn't...he has cheated on me a few months ago. i want to see other people....HELP

Sounds like you know what you want. Don't do the open relationship, you'll just want a divorce even more and may use that against him in order to get what you want. I just very recently told my husband I want a divorce. I tortured myself for over 2 years because I knew I wanted a divorce but tried to convince myself things would magically change. I had several divorce talks with him before the final one and everytime he was very against getting a divorce. I finally told him nothing's going to change my mind. We've been better friends since our separation than ever in our marriage. You can't change the way you feel because he wants you to.

Open marriage? That's just another way of saying cheating with permission. Follow your gut instinct and DIVORCE HIM! He's cheated before. You're young enough to start over. I would advise though to take things slower once divorced. You have two kids to consider as well. They have to be your number one priority. Not that you can't date and have fun. But be cautious. I'm so sorry you have to go through this but agree your heart is telling you what to do...leave.

If you are not happy in your marriage, you need to file for divorce. Staying together just for the kids is not healthy for everyone. If you want to save the marriage try swinging, it might make you both happy

If you are not happy then you should divorce him. Having an open relationship is not going to help anything, it's only going to complicate things more.

if you are not happy were you are in life .its time to make a change.its hard to make changes.but just think how much you will regret later on in life. i dont know about you but if someone told me they wanted an open relationship,id tell them to not let the door hit them in the *** on there way down the road .and dont come back.
