not unless its your primary hard drive. its the same idea as a flash drive or an optical drive now, its just another place your real hard drive looks for information

No. I am assuming that you actually run Windows from your C:, and they you just plan to use the new F: hard drive for file storage and maybe installing some games and other programs. If that is true, then you do not have to install either on it. Windows and the virus scanner will run from your original drive.

No you do not, unless you want to be able to use two operating systems on one pc, otherwise known as a "dual booting" system.
However, you can configure you virus scan to also include the new drive when scanning your pc.

you really should try the Huge library of FREE Open Source Software (FOSS) !
And, check out the FASTER OSes! (You can have up to 23 partitions, and each can be a different Operating System!)
Menu included, as Grub, in Linux!

did you replace or add one, if you just added one then no, but you can set up a raid config. if you have SATA hard drives, thats awesome..
