Both of those names are beautiful names and very unique!!
I did a little search and Skye comes from the Isle of skye, so it doesn't have another name with the same meaning. But, soleil, meaning sun, has many nice alternatives that you could use as a middle name. Check out the link below!!

are they both girls? solay sounds like a tanning lotion.. Skye is ok.. I guess I am not a big fan of unusual names.. Think about how people will spell and pronounce the names as well.. The kids will always have to correct people.
My sister named her first born Amie (english version) but eveyone spells it Amy.. And now Amie is almost 18 and wants to change it to Amy.
You must be going nuts trying to get names by next week.. You had 9 months..LOL..Sorry do not mean anything rude by that..
You could make their names totally different sounding instead of sticking with the S
How about skye and breezy? Ok thats dumb..How about Nina (means little girl) and Hanna (means gift from god)

If you have to spell a name phonetically, it is probably not the best choice. You may end up causing the kid a lot of grief throughout their life. However, I do like Skye. But if both of you like Soleil, it is your decision. And congratulations!

I think the names are beautiful.....but keep in mind that most people will stumble over Soleil......she will always have to pronounce (and spell) her name for people who do not know her, as will you when they see it in print...unfortunately...we live in a society where spelling (and reading) is fast becoming a lost art, so most people will have NO clue. (hence the push to simplify spelling....sheesh)
A synonym for sun (soleil is French for sun) in Japanese is "nikko", Hebrew is "khama" and "shemesh", German is "sonne".

These names are pretentious and overly hip-sounding. I can't even tell the sex of these children by the names. What about Mary Kate and Ashley or Click and Clack?
