Feminism is just another way the media and elite illuminati control the masses. (if you don't believe this, watch how many commercials make men out to be nearly retarded and women to be geniuses in everything) It is a load of crap. I'm a woman, and I'm embarrassed for the chicks that think they are "powerful" by putting down men. About 50 years ago, women were raising children to be obedient and thoughtful. They were cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a happy household. Now, women are out trying to prove that they are better than men. They leave their children with someone else to teach them morals and values.... It is ridiculous because women expect the same pay as a man for doing 1/2 the work. How many women are willing to work outdoors doing greasy grimy work? Not many.... I hope that more women realize that by being submissive to their husbands they are really stronger that way. I pity the feminists in denial. And no, feminists don't respect women who disagree with them.

I do not believe so. It is more of a middle of the road type of thing. I think many people are very defensive and would rather make people with different ideas or beliefs look bad than truly hear them out. I do not respect the ideas of modern feminism as a whole, but I can still support women. Shivers, this question was not about anti-fems, but simply those who do not agree with feminism. I think we can all agree than anti-fems are not good for the future productivity or positive changes of society, but there is a difference between these people and people who have chosen not to support modern feminism.

Firstly, being a "homemaker" or mother does not constitute an anti-feminist or non-feminist position, as one answer here has implied. I think that's a sad misunderstanding of what feminism is about.

As for me, I can respect other people whether I agree with their views or not, but I do object to people, either men or women, who undermine my rights and my position in society as a female, by colluding with or perpetuating an inequitable situation. Objecting to unfairness, and to those who endorse it is not the same as not respecting those people though, is it?

Having said that, I do find it hard to respect ignorance in any domain and any gender. This is not to say that all non-feminist people are ignorant, or that all feminists are not ignorant. I do not support either of those views. I also find it hard to respect an immoral or unethical position, whether in relation to feminism or not.

Feminism is not about supporting the rights of anyone to be ignorant or unethical, and if you thought that it was, then perhaps you could think again.

If a woman chooses to be anti-feminist that is her choice; but don't complain that we take away the jobs from the men when many of the men are a bunch of lazy as-es & then there's the guy that secretly envies another couple whose wife makes more than he does. Why would you want to waste it [not being supportive of women's rights] and lay around getting cafeteria arms? We want equal pay, we work for it! We are educated. I don't respect a woman who has sucked off her husbands health insurance all these years then complains when they have to pay a small out of pocket premium out of his retirement pension, when she's never busted her back or tried to even pay one bill. That's what I'd call a nag that doesn't deserve any respect!

Of course. Feminism is the determined support and propagation of female view of the world and culture. All woman are good. All woman are part of the interpretation of the world and history in the female perspective. Anti-feminism is a celebration of a woman's right to disagree with anything we want to. It's not like anti-feminists are pro-rape. They are just pro-rape babies.

I think that the whole point of being a femenist is is suppose to be the beauty to be able to choose who and what you want to be. A rational femenist may pity a woman who is an anti-femenist for the role they accept that is traditionally looked as male inflicted, but she shouldn't hate her. She should have respect for the choice the other is making. After all that's what so many femenists claim to want, right?

There are obviously women who like the traditional role of homemaker and mother.
From the feminist perspective, the women who choose or prefer that kind of lifestyle are free to do so.
Only problem is that the women who live those traditional lifestyles end up running to court when they discover that they're being divorced, cheated on, without alimony and/ or have to support themselves and then, after the fact, whine about how unfair their situation is... and then turn into radical feminists. tsk.

Anti-feminism is not a choice. It is an expression of ignorance, therefore it cannot be tolerated in a modern society. Women have a DUTY to seek their rights, and those that do not are miscreants.

WELL, to answer that question, one must ask themselves what the true meaning of feminism is. Here is a definition that I really like that was given to me by a professor of mine at college

"Finally, remember what it means to say you are a feminist: I believe that each individual deserves the opportunity to reach her or his full potential. Go live it."

@ OP: No, feminists DON'T respect us ladies who are anti-feminist. These feminists are rigidly intolerant against anyone who disagrees with anything they say; they're hypocritical bullies.
