There was a book written some years ago called Ultimate Power. In the book he began that the first form of power was personal power. The strongest man survived and was fed. Then people learned to group men together into armies. He who had the biggest army was the most powerful. Then money became the most powerful. If you had money you could control and buy armies. The last and ultimate power was information. He who controled information could make more money to buy more armies. This is a condensed version of the idea but information is very powerful. That is how I see the internet is a sourse of information for all with the ability to make each of us stronger because we have access to more information.

When scientists and researchers used to work on problems, inventions and ideas they seldom has a way to pick the brain of other scientists and researchers working on similar ideas. The internet, I believe, has become vehicle capable of letting others share information and ideas more easily. Let's pretend a new graduate from college decides to enter the field of aids research. He doesn't have to start on the ground floor. He can access the internet and learn a lot of the research that has already been done before now.

It's also a way for people in all kinds of countries to get to know each other. I've played MMORPH games on the internet for years. I've gotten to know people from Austrailia, Europe, Asia, the Pacific islands. There is no way without the internet that we would have ever met and gotten to know each other. Maybe we should appeal to Bill Gates to expand his progam of making the internet available to all schools and libraries across the US to include all libraries and schools world wide that don't have access to the internet. If we could get terrorists interested in fighting in MMORPH games for fun instead of Iraq for real the world may be more peaceful.

First, we ought to undergo in ideas, on condition that folk opt to deliver the international together will that be the article, even if by using utilising the web or yet another channel. otherwise, all modern-day invention should be seen as a way of generating money for giant businesses (Microsoft, pc makers, micro-chip manufacturers and so on). enable's settle for it, if there is not any money in contact, initiatives hardly ever get off the floor. for particular, the web is a godsend for advertisers (even Yahoo has a honest share of unsolicited promotion) because the documents is going direct to a sitting objective. It delivers the settee shopper ordinary get entry to to products and those who relish determining to purchase a clean thanks to purchase. even if it delivers a wealth of assistance, it isn't ordinary to tell apart between truth and fiction and this can reason large false impression and actual divide human beings. as an celebration, there is a variety of of stereotype pictures being conveyed, there is in ordinary words one area given to the U. S./Iraq conflict. many human beings in the underdeveloped international do not have get entry to to the computer and can't replace what has been unfairly written about them. in spite of this, like each and every thing else, if this new medium is used properly and with more beneficial beliefs, it ought to correctly be an invaluable gizmo to deliver the international closer together.

The internet is a tool just like anything else it's how you use it. For me I use it for everything. No more yellow pages, standing in line at the video rental, $100 phone bills talking to my sister in Alaska, having to get off work early to get to the bank before they close to name a few. It has changed the way we do things but regardless it's still a tool and nothing more. It all depends on how you use it.
