My Dad is 76 years old. He has been on the same job since he was 19. The company has been sold 7 times but he kept his job. The last three times, he was the only employee the new owner kept. Three of the former owners have died. At one time he owned 1/4 of the company but he sold that to the 3rd owner. He started out sweeping floors and helping to answer phones. He is now the general manager over 26 plants.

The longest job I have been in (at nearly 28 y/o) is my current job of going on 4 years. That's mainly because my husband is in the military and we move quite a bit. If you want to count motherhood as a job, than going on 9 years. :-)

4 1/2 years. But the damn place closed down so I had to move on. Otherwise, I probably would have still been there.

10 years. It would have been longer, but I had a chance to move to Shanghai and money wasn't an issue. I'll probably go back to the same job when I'm done here.

1993 to 2005... 12 years in law firm. Now I'm a stay-at-home mom with two kids and those law firm years were easy compared to homemaking.
