A friend just gave this name to her baby boy as a middle name and I'm just wondering where in hell it came from????

Yup i have. An old roomate i knew named his pit bull that. I asked about the name too and i can't remember his response. Check out Greek Mythology. I think there is something there.

It was a kids show back in the seventies about a guy that traveled around in an RV and became a super hero. I think the Shazam! had something to do with Greek mythology. It was a darn good show, as I recall (of course, I was a toddler...)

Thats the name of a movie with Shaqueil O'Neil, who plays a genie named Shazamm and grants some kid a bunch of wishes.

Yeah, a character names "Gomer Pile" of "The Gomer Pile Show" (from the 50's) used to say that ALL of the time (for example) when he was taken by surprise by something. Honestly, it was funny when he would say it but it is a REALLY STUPID name to give a kid.

Wasn't that used in a cartoon about two kids who could summon a geenie by putting to halves of a ring together and shooting "Shazaam"?

Either a comic book or something animated on television....like when there's a bubble that appears above an animated characters head...I think you know what I mean.
