does this guide include compression, mix down, and mastering on digital home studio recorder?

Yeah there are several. It depends on which genre you are working with, wich system you are going to record this. The book I got the most information on was "The Mixing Engineers Handbook"... I've heard mixing engineers refer to it as the bible. Take a look at that one. I'd recommend trying to get into protools if you can. It's the best and you would be able to run the mix board at any real studio because most real studios use Protools HD.

Depends on what software you are using. If you are using Pro Tools, you can get a lot of books at Barnes and Noble to help with the basics.
