I'm not gay, or a transvestite, but I'm curious. Help me crossdress as a woman for a day, so I can conduct an experiment to see if chivalry is dead. The results will get published hopfully as a freelance article, if not in a blog or web page.

What do I need to know? Dress, posture, speech, mannerisms, and anything else you can think of.

Thanks in advance

And a message to all you bigoted tossers who are threatened by anyone experimenting with gender. DON"T BOTHER ANSWERING. You will be reported. This is an experiment in sociology, for publishing by a certain well written freelancer.

I say to go for it.

Your number one problem is likely to be your face. Most male faces (even if remarkably feminine) still have a vaguely masculine cast that turns attractive men into ugly women. You'll have to play around a bit in front of a mirror with makeup and the like to turn yourself into someone you'd date (or, if not date, at least into someone you wouldn't mind looking at for awhile). There are millions of makeup books out there (just check your local Barnes & Noble in the Health & Beauty section, or visit the library), so leaf through some of them. There actually are makeup books with crossdressing models, and I think I saw a book once about how to look like a woman. Of course, all the "women" were unattractive, so you'd want to improve on that. If you have a heavy beard/stubble, your attempts aren't going to work at all unless you wear a scarf that covers the lower half of your face, so you'd have to wait until it was cold enough to pull it off. I wouldn't suggest wearing ethnic dress unless you're prepared to know something about the speech and culture of the woman you were pretending to be.

After you've perfected the face, if you haven't got long hair you'll have to buy/rent a wig. Don't just get one that's long or feminine- you'll want something that flatters your face shape. If you do have long hair-- it's a chance in a million that it looks good enough to pass as female hair. You'll need to get it cut/trimmed and layered, so that it looks like GIRL hair instead of unkempt guy hair. I know several men with long hair, and it usually looks unattractive, no matter what they think about it. Conditioner as a separate product is a must (if you're white. Hair recommendations are geared towards more Caucasian types, because I don't know a thing about other types).

Dress: if you can do jeans, jeans would probably be best. They'll have to be girl jeans, which means fitted, especially in the crotch area. I guess you'll have to suffer... but because you're male, your hips, at least, should be skinny enough to not cause typical girl problems. Try not to show off your legs, because even shaved, unless you're a *very* skinny man, they won't look female at all.

Even with that, you'll probably still look a little odd sexuality-wise. When I can't tell a person's gender (which does happen, you know) I look towards their chest. You'll need boobs, in PROPORTION to your figure. No double-ds, please. And they'll need to be inside a bra, or they will be completely out of position. If your arms are muscular enough to have veins popping out along the forearms, you'll need to wear sleeves long enough to cover them.

You don't need to wear heels, unless they'll help you remember to walk like a girl. Try to draw attention AWAY from your feet, because they'll almost definitely be too big. A girl walks with a little more hip motion than a guy. And if you do decide to wear heels, they should be low, because otherwise you'll break an ankle, walking around in four inchers for the first time.

If you're fat, you'll have to pretend to be pregnant. Because women get fat in different places thasn men.

Good luck!

PS: and the spellcheck is acting up, so any misspellings are typos, I swear

PPS: And I'm a straight female. If that matters.

Go all out for it. Wear control top panty hoes, high heels and make up. You need mascaera, eye liner, lip liner, base, lipstick, eye lash curler...the works.

Wear a bra and stuff it. Dressing alone like a ''woman'' is a killer. Cross your legs, sit up straight, brush your hair alot and youll be fine.

A day would be too long and not enough time. Gender is not a day experiment. So do yourself (and us) a favor and figure out your gender preferences.
