Wear layers.
T-Shirt, shirt or sweater, and coat.
Wear a hat or cap.
If the sun is out, it will get hot with the sun reflecting up off the snow. Take sunblock or you will get french fried.
Light weight hiking boots should be fine. Leave a dry pair of shoes and socks in the car to change back into if you feet get wet.

Good boots and layered clothing. Something for weather from about 40 degrees to about 70. It's hard to predict what you'll feel like in different kinds of weather.
