Im just qurious how many Americans would be in favor of the U.S withdrawing all funds, and support from the United Nations, as well as absolving all of our participation, and obligations to them. Please briefly discuss why.

My reasoning is that the U.N pushes resolutions that undermine the U.S constitution.

Absolutely! The U.N. does nothing by itself. They have no power except the power given by the U.S. We can do a much better job of helping countries than they ever have. And while you're at it, kick them off U.S. soil! Get rid of diplomatic immunity, if you break our laws, you pay the price. Let some other country let them stay rent free. I am all for pulling aid and military support from any government that bashes America. For example, I would shut down every Citgo gas station in the country. Citgo is nationally owned by Venezuela, whose President recently said he hoped America would get attacked again! I would yank all aid from his country, close relations, remove all American interests and let the S.O.B. implode!!!!
Thanks, I needed that!

Being ex-military, and working with the U.N. I can say this. This is the most corrupt, ill-thinking, no thought process in both short term and long term ramifications, the list goes on and on.
The U.N. is bad by there selective choosing what to be involved in and thier worthless harsh talk.
I would ask that before you flame me, see how many U.S. troops are deployed in U.N. actions, and how many $$$ are spent by the U.S.
Look at the track record of the U.N. Human right appointees, What have they acomplished?
Working from within the U.N. it is all political which in my eyes means very little to no good can be gained.
REMOVE the U.S. from the U.N, NOW!

The U.S. IS the U.N. If we left it would probably fall apart....the U.N. budget is primarily funded by the U.S.....its largest number of troops...U.S. troops....so without the U.S. it would become even more of a joke then it already is...BUT it does help with peace keeping. As a security force for the world...it leaves much to be desired but in trying to help keep the peace, the U.N. isn't so bad. But who cares....lets leave anyway!!!!

We are a founding country with a permanent seat on the Security Council that gives us a veto. If we left we would loose that position and open ourselves up to all sorts of resolutions criticizing the US's policies.
This obsession with criticizing the UN is uninformed and smacks of xenophobia. It is a flawed institution (as is Congress or Major League Baseball) but it is a forum that allows the countries of the world to cooperate for the betterment of the world.

I think we should kick their butts out of New York City and absolve everything. They really do not do anything they should. There is illegal activity going on that is swept under the rug.

Absolutely! Nothing gets done and what does get done isn't good. Why should Americans trust other countries with different goals for protection?

no, it won't happen. As much as Americans dislike the UN it would only make it worse for us to leave it.
