Some players even coatches are resigning from their positions after their team lose. Isn't it a bit too drastic? If the fans can still come for the rest of championship and cheer for some other teams that are in play (as some bought tickets earlier) wearing own uniforms and bearing flags, why don't a team members suck it up and endure humiliation? Or it is better to make a spot for new blood?

For some players the world cup is the be all and end all. The world cup only comes around once every 4 years. A lot of the players that are quitting international football is because by the time the next world cup comes around they will either not be playing football anymore or feel that they are past their best, so really it would be in the best interest of their country to perhaps let a younger player have his chance playing at the international level. As for the coaches, their is so much pressure on them to perform well during a tournament like this, they have the weight of a nation on their back. Passionate countries like german, italy and england (my home country) put so much pressure on the coaches that if they fail they feel that have to quit because they have let down an entire nation. Also the press pretty much can run a coach out of the game, much like the english press do.

there is so much politics behind the coaching its crazy. you just need to remember this is a once every four year tourny and all the players go to club teams (MLS, EPL, etc...) to play during the year so the coach may decide he doesnt want to stay and wait 4 years for a losing team.

True Scolari loses just one game out of like 13 and quits come on your percentage in worldcup play is .920 or something that is what most coaches would dream of actually any coach.

you have to remember the world cup is only ever 4 years, most players quit because they won't be fit enough to play at that level in 4 years.
