Uh, that works great if everyone worldwide holds the same values. Otherwise, we'll be fighting to decide how that great nation under the U.N. is ruled. Do you truly trust the 'Security Council' to make decisions in the best interests of all nations of the world?

It would end with some regions being subjugated by others, and no-one with any form of self-determination. Is that what you want? Worldwide dictatorship?

People all over the world have different values and ethics. Would all women have to dress like women in the Muslim countries? Would children be bought and sold like is common in some parts of Asia? Would dog be for sale in the supermarkets because they are food in some countries? Would someone from Toledo want the same things as someone from Uganda?

Culture would vanish from the world. Too much power would be in the hands of too few. Oppression would hit an all time high.

We can't even agree with each other in America. The world would never agree on anything.

The reason we can not unite under the UN is because there will always be power hungry, oppressive personalities who would never concede to a power exchange like that. Consider people like Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Noriega, Castro and hundreds of others...even some local "leaders" like mayors, governors and such. How would you work that out so as not to allow those kinds of people to prey on others? They know no other way.

It is my belief that a single united human nation is not currently possible due to the inability of people to accept others beliefs or points of view. In essence: socialogical immaturity. Using Iraq as an example: too many factions are willing to kill simply because of a difference in belief or opinion. When all factions are willing to accept majority rule, regardless of personal feelings, then unity may become possible.....or....unity may be possible under a tyrannical ruling faction that enforces its rule by corporal punishment. This is just my belief.

Yes we do. Diversity is the key to everything. Imagine if every place in the World was the same, apart from being an economic and political disaster it would be totally boring.

How would you police your borders if you didn't have any? Who would you trade with? Most importantly who would rule this World nation and what would happen if they got it wrong, where would you go?

It just wouldn't work. Governments have too much work as it is, trying to control the entire planet under one government would be impossible with current technology and with the world in its current state.

One day it will happen though.
