let each country fend for themselves. Spend all that money used on the military to make our country greater.

That would be like hiding in your house and ignoring the bad neighborhood you live in. Sooner or later, it's going to come into your house. You can't have a safe house if you are surrounded by criminals. The criminals will see you as a coward and know they can come into your home and take whatever they want. Each country must work together, helping each other to build a better world. It will never be perfect because human nature is not perfect, but it can be better if we help each other out. We must also take preventative measures to build a better future. You have a much better chance of warding off cancer if you take preventative measures ahead of time rather than waiting until in strikes, then trying to beat it.

of everything that would make sense, the politics do not agree. we have more problems here that has to get taken care of 1st, but this country is being put on the back burner and providing for other countries that hate us

the reason we don't let everyone fend for themselves is because people like Hitler, Stalin...will come to power. After WWII there is the thought that people like that should be stopped before they become too powerful

I agree. There are too many poor, homeless, illiterate, mentally ill and many more that need help. Instead of wasting money on wars we shouldn't have started we should put the money where it is needed, in our communities.

and what do you think would happen to small countries like Iraq? they would collapse and it would be our fault, the world would look upon us with scorn and distaste, and when it was our turn to be attacked all other countries would look the other way. is that how you treat your friends?
