Great question! Its because we have cults of personalities where irrelevant personal issues are emphasized by the media (all types) at the expense of REAL issues. If people ever took the time to sit down and examine candidates' positions on the issues that are important to them, they'd make better choices. But the real answer is that people are generally happy. At least they are not unhappy enough to devote the required time into researching the candidates. Some people also may feel like it doesn't matter who they vote for and so they don't bother.

Most people are too busy or too lazy to educate themselves sufficiently about the candidates to make a really informed choice. 20 second sound bites on the television do not give one a true picture of a prospective candidates qualifications, experiences, judgments, character, etc.
Fortunately, we have the ability to correct our mistakes by not re-electing a person with whom we have developed profound political dissonance.

Because all presidential elections are rigged to put the man the Illuminati wants in the office.
It is much the same for other Federal elections.
So it doesn't make any difference who you vote for it is all rigged anyway....
