No. Those things are around us because of the basic nature of mankind. Every system that has tried to erase those things ends up being an oppressive society ruled by a politburo with the will of the party (usually communist) being enforced by abusing the citizens.

The world is right now becoming a more peaceful place because of a burgeoning global economy where we all have more to gain by mutual cooperation. Most of the world follows some basic rules. The only real trouble spots in the world are where there are rogue regimes or near-anarchy - N. Korea, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, middle east, etc. It is hard to imagine a war between states - as we saw in WWII - in the foreseeable future.

It is nice to think so, but history suggests that some people will always find things to fight about. At one point in the history of Imperial Rome, the Empire was torn apart by a civil war between "Blues" and "Greens" -- which had just started out as the color of the chariot racing teams that the respective sides liked to cheer for!

Yes, but it would be a boring place. You are more are less describing a world in which we all look alike and have no religion. Ethnicity, nationalism and religion can help define you as a person, and in your hypothetical borderline communist world there would be peace.

the only problem with that is that for the most people need something to believe in....they would come up with something that eases the fear and explains the unexplainable....
