It was long before I was driving, but I easily remember gas being under 60 cents/gallon, and some places charged 49 cents/gallon for "regular."
That'll get me down the street now.

I remember it being 92 cents a gallon. And it took $15 to fill up the gas tank. Now it's $50 to fill it up. Everything is going up but the paycheck.

16 years old (1985) I use to fill up my Honda Accord for 6 bucks. Gas was .79 cents a gallon.
Buddy had an older CVCC Civic at the time and he couldn't even put $5 in gas in the car without it over flowing.

I have seen a pump price of 19 cents per gallon. I was told of a price of FREE but you had to pay the tax of 10 cents per gal. This was in the mid 60s in the mid west.

I didn't pay attention when others bought the gas, but from when I had to fill the hog, it was about the mid-to-upper 60s, for premium (leaded, of course), back in the late '70s. Prices differ, from state to state...
