Go to toolbar

* Click "Tools"
* Click "Internet Options"
* Go to "General" Tab
Click "Clear History"
* On "Content" Tab
Click "AutoComplete"
Then click "Clear Forms"

Assuming you use Internet Explorer, you can go to the Tools| Internet Options | and set History to 0 and hit clear history. Other browsers have a similar feature and use similar terms.

You can also use an old, free Microsoft utility called TWEAKUI. Once installed, there is a tab called paranoia that allows you to choose erasing a dozen different traces of your computer use, such as the document list, last login name, etc. each time you log off or shutdown.

Note that a forensic expert can still retrieve these traces. Installing a freeware program such as UltraWipe allows you to more permanently erase files.

TWEAKUI and UltraWipe are available on CNET.com, snapfiles.com and other file sharing web sites.

1. Open up the Browser
2. Click Tools at the top of your screen, then Internet Options
3. Click on the Content tab.
4. Under Personal information, click on the Auto Complete box.
5. On the AutoComplete Settings window click the Clear Forms box to delete your current history
6. You can uncheck the Forms box to permanently stop the generation of the search history.
7. Close browser and re-open

Goto Tools, Internet Options, under Temp. Internet Files click Delete Cookie click yes on window that pops up, then click Delete Files and click yes

I think if you just highlight each word or line that you would like to erase and then press 'delete', it should erase the list, line by line. In this way you would not have to erase 'History' if you did not wish to do so.
