If your 8" is for 8 inches then 4 ft x 8 inches = 2.6 sg ft.
You need to convert the 8 inches to feet or the 4 feet to inches to get your answer: for example:
4ft x (8 inches divided by 12 inches)= 4 ft x .666 ft = 2.6 sg. ft.
The second option feet to inches is as follows
(12inches x 4) x 8 inches= 48 inch x 8 inches = 384 sq in. You now need to convert the square inches to square feet by dividing by 144 which is 12inch x12 inch
384 divided by 144 = 2.6 sq. feet

Need to know the ceiling height also, if it is a standard 8 foot ceiling you need 10 for the walls and for the ceiling roughly 4

Assuming you mean 4feet and 8inches. Figure it out. 4' = 48" x 8" =384sq" 1 sq' is 12" x 12" = 144sq"
So 384/144 = 2.67sq'
