Different partners, different dance.
Russia and China, no matter what they say, don't have any real interest in negotiating with either North Korea or Iran. They have economic ties with both countries. Does it bother China that NK has nukes and rockets? Why should it? NK won't attack them. Same with Russia. Same with Iran.
North Korea and Iran both understand that the US can't make war on anybody else right now, because we are mired down in Iraq. The US president having already called them out---calling them both "evil" several years ago---they don't give a rip who else they negotiate with. They know the US is the primary on any agreements that are reached. So, they rattle the nuclear sabers in order to gain concessions from us.
The Dems might be playing politics, sure. But they also see the reality of the situation. Back when we had more army than brains (pre-Iraq), it was easy to unilaterally deal with the enemy...and attack when Saddam didn't roll over. Look at the different way Bush is dealing now with Iran, offering them a nice concession package, then giving them weeks and weeks, months, even, to respond. No army, no balls.
NK is already launching missiles, albeit duds. Somebody better do something. The Middle East is already in chaos. The Far East might be next if Tiawan, South Korea and Japan stop believing the US can protect them. They'll all go nuclear soon. They have the money.

Because most dems hail from the 60s generation and were opposed to Vietnam, which was a poorly ran war. When politicians run wars the effort is usually lost. Much like the Iraq campaign which is being micro-managed by politicians. Once is war is initiated the generals should run it. Korea is a unique situation because of its location to Japan. If we were to attack Korea; Japan and South Korea would be its targets not the US.
It's much like when Hilter started his war. The world had lost its desire to stand up until it was too late and after that war the US adopted a perventive approach rather than a wait and see. Well here we are again. The world wants to wait and see with Iran and Korea and we will all pay for that repeat of history. And as long as the US takes the preventative process, we will still be considered the bad guys. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Words we've all heard but don't listen to.

Honestly folks, pull your chemical induced rational out of your butts for a second and try to explain rationally why N. Korea should give up their nuclear program? Oh is it because we think they might try and send us a package via the air? Please explain why: Why would N. Korea send a missile over here, It will take allot more than one; Listen N. Korea as no intention or interest in bringing down the United States. Should they, as a sovereign nation be allowed to protect themselves from a wild rogue aggressive nation? Well hell yes they should, lets face it the Bush/Cheney regime has a plan to take over the whole Middle East, eventually! We,ve built over 15 Military bases in Iraq alone, Camp Anaconda the largest base we have in Iraq is all of 15 miles square. It has an American movie theater, retail shops, bowling, swimming, golf. There's a huge Mall with dozens of stores, restaurants, social entertainment, Gym's and exercise area's , loads of brand new Apartments, homes and other rentals with all the conveniences of home! Camp Anaconda, costs billions, and it & we aint going anywhere, we have permently moved into Iraq, and we are staying there forever. It's just a fact!

Talks are a peaceful solution . Would Conservatives rush in an bomb everything ? Most major powers have fallen from being too many places . We have now walked away from our allies . We have very few left . Any leader in a democratic country would be run out of office for backing the US .. This is the same thing the US did in Iraq .

Because Republicans insist on 6-party talks. Sometimes you have to zig when they zag. Besides, North Korea wants unilateral talks, and those that want to give it to them believe that doing it, even though it'll be giving them what they want (and they'll NEVER give up their weapons) is better than not trying to work with them.
It's one of those things (in my opinion) where we're darned if we do (Dems) and don't (Republicans) - there's no way they're going to give it up.

Because it's against Bush. And, evidently, the Democrats and John Kerry believe that all of our allies are puppets.
Democrats are nothing more than asshats without a plan.

I think it's because that's all N. Korea wants... and if that's the only way they will talk... we think it could be a good starting place...
why do republicans insist on doing things "their way"?

democrats would rather appease our enemies than confront them...
goes along with their agenda of letting the united nations someday run this country...see how its done..??? a bunch of elitists running the world with the rest of us as their peons...
republicans want all of us to be successful and make money ...thats how to raise humanity up...not by making a slave class and a ruling class..which is what democrats would evolve into...
