Search Engine Optimization is a combination of on-page and off-page optimization. On page optimization is important because search engines cannot read certain types of information. It is also important to use the right keywords. You can find the right keywords with a tool at www.overture.com.

Off-page optimization includes obtaining relevant links that point to your pages and these links should usually be from the same field as your business (furniture sites would want furniture links). Directory links are very powerful as well.

Search engine optimization takes years of trial and error and it is normally best left to the professionals.
