Peeing on it is suppose to make it feel better. Did you ever see that episode of Friends? Hahaha, that was a funny episode.

Rinse the affected area with salt water or don’t rinse it at all. Do not rinse the involved area of skin with fresh water, because it will further activate nematocysts and worsen the reaction. Apply acetic acid 5% (white vinegar). This will inactivate undischarged nematocysts and the toxin and will help to decrease symptoms.

The best thing that worked for me was plain old vinegar. The sting remover crappolla they sell in the dive shops doesn't work.
If you're in a bind and away from civilization, urine will help stop the stinging. (Yucky, but true!)

First of all to all you idiots who answered urine and then made a comment of it being yucky or gross; it just shows your ignorance. Pee from normal healthy human is totally sterile solution and great for those stings. I recall a couple of us guys peeing on wifes foot after she stepped on a sea urchin. Had she not peed in the water she would of been able to pee on herself.

I was once told that a person should use their own urine to treat this kind of sting.

IF YOU ARE ON THE BEACH AND NEED A QUICK REMEDY, PACK SAND ON THE BODY PART THAT WAS STUNG. ALSO, MOIST (NOT SATURATED) TOBACCO HELPS. BOTH OF THESE DRAW OUT THE TOXINS
