We have an inner turmoil caused by our wish to be significant conflicting with our realization that we are insignificant. Our wish to be significant comes into conflict with the desire of others to be significant. Our expression of our significance leads us to protect that significance when we believe it is threatened by another's significance. This is the turmoil we see between individuals, groups, nations, races, ethnicities, mankind and God.

I believe the turmoil comes from people who are inevitably uneducated and those who don't care about the world around them.
Its hard to find solice in the word of god anymore because so many different religions are contradicting the other. Which came first, who was right, are you going to heaven or hell, is there even a heaven or hell?
We are also a world bent on money and power. I really don't think this will ever change. Everyone wants what the other has no matter if its worth something or not. There is never a sense of contentment, only bigger, better, and more.
Its also becoming harder and harder to take a man, or woman for that matter, for their word. I grew up in a town where your word was something another person could honor. A place where a handshake and a smile meant the truth. Today a hand shake and a smile will get you screwed.

This is an interesting question . The word TURMOIL means : a state of extreme confusion or agitation.
If I went to my psychiatrist and told him I felt turmoil, he would have me tested for dementia, panic disorders, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, yada, yada, yada ......If I told a guru that I felt turmoil, he would direct me to yoga classes ..... If I told a fundamentalist minister that I felt turmoil, he would tell me it was Satan and that I needed to be saved ....... If I described turmoil to the director of a symphony orchestra, he would direct the orchestra to perform emphatically and erratically ...... If I described it to an artist, I would get a bizarre painting ......
But, YOU asked ME, and all I really know is that the world gets faster and faster and life does, too. If we can not learn how to slow down our lives and our minds, we will never hear the small, inner voice of peace which dwells within each of us. Thank You.

There is no conflict amongst honest people willing to live and let live. Who have no desire to have what they didn't earn themselves. But there are those that want what they didn't earn and are willing to take it by force or fraud. Then there are others that are nothing more than mad dogs, they fight not for freedom or to be left alone, but to only to kill. These people are not in the family of civilized man and cannot be reasoned with, any more than you can reason with a mad dog. These must be destroyed.

Lack of direction to many things I have to do. To many forces greater than myself that are out of my control like the weather and people.

because of fear.
people fear things they don't know or understand.
one day we might all finally see that we all are truly alike and that we all can live together, we just have to really want to and try to let go of the fear that controls us...
