It seems to me that more of our teens are becoming young mothers with not just one child but with three to four children living on welfare and more immigrants are coming over here doing the same thing except with five and seven children and draining our economy. We as a people should raise our youth with better morals and respest for their selves and their bodies. Our poverty level is steadily rising not just in Africa but here also in the U.S. We need to wake up and do something about this. Our youth is dying from disease spread by our own ignorance. We all need to learn to care more for eachother and help out each other more and pray more.

Yes, and a way to do that would be to provide educational resources to help the impoverished, instead of fostering it. We are too politically correct. When I was a child, a man standing on the corner holding a sign begging for food and/or money was called a bum. Now we say that he is just homeless. We glorify poverty. We would rather allow poor people to exploit social services instead of investing in their future and holding them accountable. And yes in America you can refuse monies to anyone who refuses to go to school. We, as a nation sanction any country we desire and hold back resources, but for our own, we've allowed groups like the ACLU dictate policy and accept that everyone has a right to bleed the taxpayer.

The Bible puts it this way, If a man doesn't work, he should not eat.

And before you get your panties all in a bunch, I do recognize and know that there are some who are legitimately struggling and desire to do better. That unfortunately is the minority. We can identify those who want help. Let's start giving people the knowledge of how to fish as oppose to giving them fish.

We don't need welfare reform, we need human heart reform.

I do not think that imposing a limit on the number of children someone would follow the values (I'm assuming you were speaking about in the U.S.?) of this country, and even more importantly, would work. Secondly, I do not think poverty would be as valid a reason as overpopulation- while there is a correlation, one does not always accompany the other.

I do, however, heartily agree that the 'youth' (and I am among them) should be raised with more respect for ourselves and our bodies. The morals are a little harder, because different cultures and families have different morals. I know, for example, that one part of my family believes gay/lesbian behavior to be an abhoration, and the other part believes that it is normal, natural behavior.

Prayer hasn't done much.
NEW LAW: One month after applying for public assistance a woman with children shall be required to identify the father of the child who is not being supported. The mother shall accept a sub-dermal contraceptive device for the next assistance payment and the father shall be given a vasectomy which can only be reversed when he can afford the operation himself.
As for raising levels of poverty, the average is still the same; it's just that the wealth of the world is being consolidated in the hands of a decreasing few. Except in the European Union. See the book The European Dream.

What the heck kind of big brother government do you want? Government telling people they can or can't reproduce! For God's sake, you're being ridiculous!
you know Hitler started a sterilization program and sterilized even CHILDREN that he decided were unfit to reproduce (didn't promote the right blood lines). Most of them didn't even know what had happened to them- they just remember being taken off to the hospital and them recovering at home! Many of them found out what had happened after they survived the war and were trying to have children and families of their own!
i can't even believe you are even implying it's a good idea to have the gov't control reproduction in any way.
That is so ridiculous and invasive. Next thing you know, the unfit will be sent off to concentration camps and death factories...

Although I think you're exaggerating the problem a bit, I think the days in this country of anyone having a baby, and having as many as they want, whether or not they can care for them financially or emotionally, should end.

I think every female should have an implant placed in them that prevents pregnancy. As soon as you pass the tests, pay the fees, fill out the appropriate paperwork, and provide financials, then you can have a baby.

And maybe (how's this for extreme?) we shouldn't allow anyone to give birth until after all children are adopted who need to be.

A limit nah....better parents teaching our youth...yes...better sex education in school instead of sweep it under the rug education....cause that is what my high school did...everything i know is from parents...for kids with uninfluential parents where are they to learn it....as far as rising poverty level...i vote ship the immigrants out....welfare is great in all...so long as it is limited..but when they get the money and don't have to work it all i think that is wrong.

The problem is wealth distribution--the rich get richer and the poor become poorer.
Did you know that the average CEO of a corporation rakes in approximately 280 times the pay, as the average hourly worker?

Welfare is not the answer, it has become part of the problem. The real problem is that people try to fix things that will fix themselves in time. Every time we try to intervene, we make matters worse. Just look at out history.

I understand the concerns but limiting people's children is not the answer; that is what a totalitarian country would do. We need to get our traditional values back.

I agree but how do you stop them from having sex when in most cases that i s whta they now. Sex, drugs or whatever else doesn't involve school and the fun of growing up a kid not a little adult.
