Why won't men let women be brainy and glamorous?

maybe you should find a man who is brainier than you. generally, when the woman is smarter than the man, the man is more insecure and either wants the woman to dumb herself down or to dress like a frump...its an ego thing

'Let' women be brainy and glamorous? Men don't 'let' us do anything, we're by far the stronger sex and have been since time began. We just know how to keep them happy! (They have no idea how to keep us happy, hence their feeble excuse that they don't understand us). We're most definitely brainy and glamorous, we're also the educators of man from birth - and their dressers. Without us they're an all-round mess, just look at the single men you know!

You're hanging out with the wrong men if you think most men are like that. Only the losers don't want a smart attractive woman. The new "trophy wife" is not a beautiful idiot. She is an achiever herself. My mother is a former model and very smart, she skipped two grades in school. She had no shortage of men who wanted to marry her. My sisters and I also married men who wanted smart attractive women-my one sister met her husband at a Mensa conference. When my parents would go out with another couple and the wife was beautiful but dumb, at the end of the evening my father would say to my mother, "What does he talk about with her?"

Women are smart enough to know they can be anything they want to be: if they want to be smart and glamorous, then they can (and many are), while other women choose a different style. Nobody is stopping you from being you. You are holding yourself back because you are afraid of displeasing people. Namely, men. It looks to me like you are afraid of men, probably because you love them and want one of them to love you.
Try this. You be the first woman you know who is both smart and knockout glamorous. If you are trying to be both, not caring what men or other women say to you about it, you will be happier for liking yourself. The number one thing that is attractive to the opposite sex has been shown to be confidence. Things will work out.

However the womens movement rejected the cause as they would still not have equality under a new flag.

The womens movement was not compatible with the patriarchal rebels fight for nationalism as true freedom of the individual was not their goal if equality for women was not attained.
