Apartments in San Francisco are pretty expensive, but rents have gone down since the dotcom boom went belly up. Even still, you can find a pretty decent rental in the Bay Area if you don't have your heart set on living in the city.

For example, there are some pretty cool neighborhoods in Oakland & Berkeley that offer more affordable rentals than their SF counterpart. I recommend perusing Craigslist ( http://craigslist.org ) to begin your search. Stay away from agencies that charge a fee for *finding* you an apartment.

Nice thing about living in the East Bay (aside from affordability) is the fact that it's just a short BART train ride across the bay to San Francisco. It's also sunnier, too, which is important if you're not too keen on foggy overcast days with cooler temps (even in summer). In the winter, it rains everywhere - that just comes with the NorCal territory, though.

It depends on the size of the apt, and the area that u are looking to live in. I will warn u that they are very overpriced. There is nowhere to park in SF, there is a lot of traffic as well. Most places do not have parking available for the residents, and all the street parking is meters only, and, u get so many tickets out there as well. Rent for a 3 bed 1bath tiny apt goes for 2000 a month. Also rent for a sudio with no where to park in a bad crackhead neighborhood is 800. Basically the rent is just too darn high!!

any where fr0om 1500. to 3000 a monuth plus first and second mounths rent. pluss ulit. and garbage. electry. its very exspensive. and thats probably the cheepest. 2 bedroom
