I'm 5'9 and 125 pounds. I'm 23 years old. I've been mistaken for being 14. I wear makeup, but apparently not enough of it. Every haircut/new makeup I try, it just makes be look like I'm playing dress-up. I'm sick of being considered too young for jobs that people younger than me are getting, and I'm sick guys calling me "cute" instead of being attracted to me. What can I do to change from cute to sexy?

It's pretty presumptious of me to answer this question! But that's what you need to get sexier, a bit of an attitude. People who have self-confidence are sexy. Sometimes people who are trying to look sexy just end up looking trashy. Sexy doesn't mean wearing more make-up or getting a trendy haircut.
If you want to get a sexier wardrobe, pick up a fashion magazine and check out some classic trends. No girl can go wrong with a pair of classic pumps or sandals, a pair of perfectly fitted jeans, a fitted blazer, and an array of tops to mix and match with. Don't forget accessories that can make you look older and fashionable, such as bangles and long beaded necklaces. When I started to take note of fashion and dressing more like a woman, my confidence shot up 100%. I started to FEEL like a woman and enjoy every day more knowing that I looked good on the outside. Employers love to see someone who comes to work dressed for success.
With make-up, less is more! Go to a department store and get a consulation with a make-up artist about how you can apply your make-up to bring out your best features. Perhaps it's a little more of this or a little more of that....but applying make-up is an art, and you should seek the help of a trained professional to start out. Not wearing "enough" make-up is probably not your problem, applying it well is the trick.
You can definetly make the transition from cute to sexy with the right attitude and the right look. You're already as cute as a button, right? Act like you know it and the sexiness will shine through!
P.S. I don't think women should try to look "sexy" for men. It's all about you, making yourself feel powerful and confident. Stop worrying about what the men think and charge up! Love yourself first, if you have time later, love a man!

The problem that you have today will be a blessing tomorrow. As you get older, looking younger than you are will be good for you. Don't worry what others think about you, what matters is how do you see yourself. I'll guess that what you really want is an awesome boyfriend and you don't care if he thinks you are cute or sexy as long as he wants to be with you and treats you right. Just keep being yourself and get out and meet people, you will meet mister right eventually. Good Luck

Personally I think cute IS sexy, a certain naivete is very appealing.
But to answer you question more directly, it seems that you must not be totally comfortable with yourself when you "dress up" and people pick up on that discomfort.
Don't try to make others think you are something you are not, find a style and a look that makes you feel good about yourself, that makes you happy and I am that others will see you in a new, more "mature" light. Good luck!

Some people think cute is sexy. Try less makeup, just a little around your eyes and lips. More makeup often makes women look cheap, no offense intended.

I'm 39, still get mistaken for very early 20's and have been called "cute" by whole life, and very rarely "sexy".

you dont need make up to look older. If you feel better natural, then stay that way. Perhaps, trying to dress differently. Not too slutish! LOL

i do not teach my real photo the following so no one is prevalent with how i look i do not plan on putting my photo up both except there have been lawsuits :D and that i'm not into avatar video games sorry about that :P

U can be cute at the same time sexy... U don't have to wear anything to become one. U just have to be urself. It's just the way how u carry urself...
