Previously, they were seperate brands of wrestling to allow more midcard and low-card wrestlers to get in some air time and make a name for themselves. Due to the number of superstars out on injury/part time status there is currently discussion of making Smackdown "the B team" more or less and using it to build wrestlers up before moving them 'up' to RAW. This would require moving some of the few remaining largers stars over to RAW I would think, however.

2 diffrent days thats about it. raw is live and smackdown is taped on tuesdays.

well i dont really kno how simple you can get with this one but ones blue and the other is red,one really sux(smackdown) and the other is awsome(raw) dee dee dee and ecw sux now that its owned by wwe

No difference, but the wrestlers are not the same neither the team management.. the rest is same = fighting.
