The pitcher throws at 200 mph, right down the middle, every time (almost robotically). The batter hits a home run at every at bat (and managers will soon catch on, walking him). The two never face each other.

What if the pitcher consistently lasts 5 innings? 9? Does bunting matter? Poor catcher . . .

i'd take the batter, you'd figure a good enough hitter could time the fast pitch and make contact, it is pretty easy to hit when you know what is coming, that is what makes hitting difficult, what is coming, 95 mph heater, or 75 mph slider. give me the home run hitter.

The best offense is a good defense. If you know that the only way to catch up to it is to bunt the ball, then you can play you're infield consistently against the bunt. If they can't touch the ball in the first place, you have nothing to worry about. The best way to win is to keep the other team from scoring. Yeah, a guy that hits a homerun every at bat is nice, but how many AB's is he going to get in a given game? 4? That's only 4 guaranteed runs, if they don't walk him. You only need one run if the other team can't score.

The pitcher would never allow a run, never... at 200 mph. So, his team should win just about every game if he can go five or more innings.

I think few batters would even be able to touch a 200mph fastball, so I'd rather take the pitcher. A home run hitter can always be avoided with a walk..see what they used to do with Barry Bonds.

pitchers are always better, the experts always say that you can never have enough pitching, the best hitter never hits more than half of his at bats, generally the stars hit 1/3 of their at bats,go with the pitcher

Both of them.I would like a perpetual home run hitter to score rus though. If it is not a good pichter the defens can help the pitcher.

I would have to say the home-run hitter. Runs win games, and pitchers do not score runs.
